Generally speaking, you should always take your car in for brake repair as soon as you notice any of these warning signs, before the situation gets any worse. You'll be glad you did! Don't forget to also have your brake fluid inspected on a regular basis. It can become contaminated with moisture and metal flakes that interfere with proper function. Frequently, contaminated brake fluid is the only reason calipers and wheel cylinders need replacing. And, speaking of inspections, experts recommend that car owners have their brakes inspected on an annual basis, or twice a year if the vehicle is regularly used for heavy hauling or towing.
